Robert Half Technology is currently seeking an experience Database Administration for one of our clients on Long Island. The Database Administrator will assists in the installation and upgrade of database software systems and makes recommendations to ensure optimal performance in the physical database design considering user requirements. Assists in maintaining database system performance and backs-up databases in compliance with existing schedules. The Database Administrator must be proficient with MS SQL Server 2000 and have knowledge of Unix and Oracle. The ideal candidate will be responsible for software development process including collecting business information requirements of user departments, system tuning and reporting, documenting procedures and configurations and database back-ups and restores. This person will also assist in maintaining database system performance. Ability to travel to bank locations, work extended hours, nights and/or weekends to perform support and implementation activities.
