BASIC FUNCTION: As part of M&T’s Credit division the Programmer/Analyst would analyze data pertaining to department, developing spreadsheets/reports and making recommendations for submission to management RESPONSIBILITIES: Accumulate information about bank’s data; identify and document systems’ interdependencies Perform data acquisition and reconciliation from various corporate and business systems Aggregate, validate, and ensure data meets modeling and reporting requirements Build and maintains complex SAS routines to fulfill data extract requests Maintain a strong focus on translating business issues and operating needs into technical requirements. Design, develop, and implement solutions related to reporting and ad hoc analysis Interact with the MIS group to ensure enhancements can be made to the existing databases, when necessary. Understand and improve the existing data and process strategies Identify, define, and implement ways to automate data processing and data migration Become proficient with SAS data step, macros, and various statistical procedures in order to assist business analysts with data extraction and analysis. Perform other duties as assigned by management. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: BS/BA degree in a quantitative discipline or 5+ years in related financial/technical environmentSolid ExcelExperience of any of the database systems (MS-SQL, DB2, Oracle) Proficiency writing SQL queries and using Excel Macros IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS: Prior experience working with financial data. 1-3 years SAS programming experienceKnowledge of JCL strongly preferred Thorough knowledge of data management principles Understanding of software development life cycle concepts
