SmartSource a Nationwide IT Staffing Agency is seeking Assistant Director for a client located in Long Island.

Position: Assistant Director Position
Location: Long Island , NY 11106
Duration: 5 month contract to hire
Salary: $80-100K (salary once brought on full time)

Candidates will need to be able to FBI Back Ground Check and Drug Test.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Director is responsible for supervising at least six project support staff including help desk and site implementation staff.

Provides leadership, training and tools for staff to effectively perform their duties. Assist with overall client relationship, project management, planning and implementation including assuming responsibility of Executive Project Director if necessary. Supports all software and hardware products associated with the project. Assumes co-responsibility for providing overall system support including server and database security, stability and accessibility.


SYSTEM SUPPORT REQUIREMENTS
Monitors performance and makes recommendations for upgrades and enhancements.
Oversees database backups, restores and disaster prevention and recovery plans.
Create and maintain documentation and policies affecting systems to ensure usability, stability and availability.
Oversees installation and configuration of the database and servers.
Extensive knowledge of query writing, SQL replication and setup and maintenance of a clustered environment.
Oversees day-to-day maintenance of the database and servers. Observe and measure organizational performance against customer requirements and recommend modifications to existing systems or development of new systems.

Determine fiscal requirements and prepare budgetary recommendations; monitor, verify, and reconcile expenditure of budgeted funds; prepare proposals for operating expenditures.

Support of internal Access database tracking system and project website.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
Database, server and network administration functions are performed effectively and in accordance with established policies and procedures.


All maintenance for server, site machines and staff equipment is effective and timely.
The Help Desk performance is well within the existing Service Level Agreement as described in the contract.

QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience
Experience with Dell laptop, desktop and server hardware.
Extensive experience with Microsoft Office program suite
Experience troubleshooting Exchange 2003(+), Active Directory(+), SQL 2000, SQL 2005, Firewalls(+) and VPN(+) configurations.

Four to six years outstanding management and employee development.
Four to six years technical support background in relational database, server and network problem solving.
Four to six plus years project management.
Four to six plus years extra-ordinary customer service / implementation / help desk management.

Education
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent experience.
MS SQL Server 2000 and 2005, Windows Server, Microsoft certification preferred. (MCSE)

Excellent management skills. Able to see the big picture, organize and strategies to creatively plan and implement efficient solutions for staff and clients alike.


Must have the ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, use independent judgment, prioritize, make informed decisions quickly and be open minded.
