Usability Engineer/Designer in New York, NY

A well known investment bank in the New York City area is looking for a Usability Engineer/User Interface Designer.

Responsibilities:
Professional with experience delivering User Experience solutions for large-scale enterprise web applications. The person should be hands on with proficiency in user-centered design skill set. This individual will work closely with our internal and external clients to translate business requirements for web-based projects into intuitive and RIA designs. Merging various disciplines such as UI Design, Usability, Strategy, Business Analysis, Systems Integration, and Information Science, this role is responsible for executing the information structure and user experience of the project.

.Create and revise information architecture documents including but not
limited to; site maps, user profiles, user scenarios, use cases,
wireframes, content matrices, task flow diagrams/process maps, and detailed UI specifications
.Work independently with business users to help reach consensus on overall design strategies
.Work with technical leads and developers to communicate the requirements and apply project management skills to ensure projects are completed on time
.Diagram user scenarios, workflows and interaction models; Create storyboards and site architecture
.Build interactive prototypes using HTML to demonstrate the new functionality
.Perform heuristic site evaluations and competitive site analysis; conduct usability test

Experience: Core Skills
.BS in Human Factors, Usability Engineering, cognitive/experimental Psychology or Industrial Design with extensive human factors coursework.
.5+ years experience of hands-on IA / interactivity / user interface design
.Experience designing complex and data intensive applications; Experience working with Financial applications (Broker Dealer, Prime Brokerage and Securities Processing)
and products Strong communication and influencing skills are an absolute must
.Excellent written, presentation and interpersonal skills
.Strong analytical and project management skills
.Able to collaborate effectively with other design professionals and team members.

Required Skills
.DHTML, HTML, CSS2, Microsoft Visio, Photoshop, Macromedia
.Knowledge of Rich Internet Application development (Tibco GI, Open Laszlo, Flash etc.)
.Usability Testing experience
