We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to work with the sales and product managers to define technical solutions for RFP responses and new product development; leverage a set of existing solutions and architecture, as well as software architects, to guide and define strategic choices and direction of our existing architecture; provide expert guidance to executives, sales and product development staff about technology and industry trends and the possibilities of technology in Grow's domain; work with peers across our segment to define common direction, prescriptive architecture patterns, and to identify and lead transformative initiatives for efficiency and flexibility; and, present solutions and technology to client decision makers. This position is focused on both operations and innovation, both within Grow and within McGraw-Hill Education Essential Accountability Accountable for the creation of the high level designs that supports our product development and client deliveries Collaborates with Product Managers to brainstorm new innovations and directions Ensures alignment of IT strategy and planning with company's business goals, product roadmaps and with The McGraw-Hill Companies' corporate technology Provides solutions leadership in RFP responses and new product development. Management/Supervisory Responsibilities KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: a?? Degree in Computer Science, MS a plus a?? Minimum of five+ years experience in an architectural leadership role a?? Certification on Architecting principles - Must have achieved at least one certification in the area of work a?? Proven technical leadership experience in the K-12 educational assessment, reporting, and/or content recommendation industry a?? Proven understanding of data warehouse/datamart design issues a?? Proven experience defining, communicating solutions architecture directions, especially to executives and business stakeholders a?? Ability to provide leadership to existing senior architecture staff a?? Ability to present choice of architectural direction to the Enterprise Architecture Governance Board, and to collaborate with the Board for the same a?? Experience with product design and development a?? Experience in evaluating the application architecture against target application deployment environment for security violation and provide checklist of security architecture solutions a?? Experience in architecting cross-platform solutions a?? Experience with SOA data architectures, design and development with WSDL/SOAP, REST, JBI, or SCA a?? Experience with XML and XSLT for rendering HTML and other output a?? Experience architecting dynamic reporting and querying systems a?? Experience utilizing current software engineering tools like Eclipse, CheckStyle, Perforce, DevTrack and Ant a?? Experience with current software development and management practices like RUP and UML, as well as Agile and Lean processes a?? Experience leading offshore development teams and reviewing artifacts a?? Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
