BASIC FUNCTION:As part of M&T‘s Float Management department, the Project Analyst I would participate in the gathering and analysis of information related to check processing operations. Assists senior analyst and float manager with analyzing information, determining feasible solutions, and making recommendations regarding check clearing and funds availability. Develops test plans, test scripts, and performs system testing. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops a thorough understanding of the business being supported and its functions, processes, and regulations. Maintains a good functional understanding of the supported applications. Uses various bank systems and Microsoft Excel to analyze data for management review. Maintains and reviews daily and monthly reports to ensure integrity of check clearing system. Promptly reports issues to senior analyst and/or manager. Provides consultation services to internal customers on basic to medium-scope functions of check processing. This includes performing research, analysis, problem resolution, and following-up with recommendations. Supports various projects and check image initiatives as required. Performs other related duties as required. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of two to four years college or 3-5 years work experience in an analytical or operational support environment. Strong analytical, verbal and written skillsTime management and organization skills Detail oriented, self-motivated Able to work effectively with client personnel in various organizational positionsQuickly grasps new conceptsPotential and desire to quickly grow within organization IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Business Degree preferred Two to four years banking experience. Demonstrates a basic understanding of the business area’s functions and operational environment. Possesses a broad understanding of the Bank and of the business unit’s role and how they fit into the organization.
