Description Our client a major global financial services provider engaged in retail and commercial banking is seeking a Developer for the Information Technology Division s Investment Banking Technology (IBT) team Location: New York , NY Fulltime Position This position is a Developer position for the Information Technology Division s Investment Banking Technology (IBT) team. The IBT team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the eBanker application suite used by Investment Banking Division (IBD). These applications cover a range of concepts within the banking community, including revenue tracking, expense management, resource planning, document management, contact management, and management reporting. The team works closely with the business strategy team to design, build, test, and deploy solutions to increase the productivity of the banking community. The position entails working on a team of 5-7 developers to build screens, reports, and batch jobs for a Web based ERP application in a Sybase/J2EE environment. Main Function Develop effective software solutions to the requirements of the IBD business within our eBanker technology platform. Adhere to strong technical standards and best practices, and be familiar with performance optimization techniques. Operate comfortably in each tier of the application (database, infrastructure, middleware, presentation layer). Balance support and development responsibilities, and be comfortable working within a structured software development & release cycle. Work with IBT project managers and business analyst team to interpret functional requirements, provide work estimates, respond promptly to UAT issues, and escalate development roadblocks appropriately. Person Requirements 1 ? 4 years of professional experience, preferably in a financial services or consulting environment ( Wall St. experience a plus) Proficiency with Java and experience with Web based J2EE development, including UI/presentation layer design. Experience with BEA Weblogic and familiarity with a Struts-like architecture a strong plus. Proficiency with XML/XSL/CSS technology and also hands on experience in Javascript & Ajax.Working knowledge of ExtJS,JQuery, JSON would be strong Plus. Proficiency with SQL (relational database concepts, stored procedure development, building reporting queries), including ability to identify performance problems proactively and apply appropriate tuning. Comfortable understanding and working with data within a large (1000+ tables, 3000+ stored procedures) database.
