Description Our client, a major global financial services provider engaged in retail and commercial banking, is seeking a Global Head of Legal IT. Location: New York, NY Fulltime Position Application areas to cover: Legal, with interfaces to Credit Risk, Treasury, Collateral Management, and Sales/Trading Main Duties: Structure programs and projects within the initiative and ensure they are on track, in sync globally and are managed correctly Work with business to evaluate requirements and propose technology solutions and delivery approaches that meet those requirements Participate and sometimes chair workshops/discussions to help business to define the business requirement Drive architecture and design decisions and agree and enforce good design, coding and implementation practices, to evolve the platform without affecting existing functionality. Run the programs on a day-to-day basis and take responsibility of the overall program progress Transfer knowledge to direct reports and mentor junior team members Produce program support documentation, and maintain & monitor the high-level program plan Provide regular status reporting to all interested parties including; senior management, steering groups, stakeholders and PMO Capture, track & escalate program level risks & issues to the Steering group and other senior management Define, set up and run the program governance Ensure senior Management are all in sync on the program scope, what benefits will be realized when and project timelines Ensure programs have the correct level of financial tracking to enable program expenditure to be reported Required Skills: Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong project management skills to manage a global development team, stakeholder community, and upstream system dependencies Outstanding presentation skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills Prior experience with document management and document drafting solutions Must come from a technical background, and be comfortable working with various database, server, and messaging platforms Able to multi-task and prioritize a demanding and varied workload Quick learner; strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deal with numerous tasks simultaneously and with frequently changing priorities. Must be independent and creative in approach to problems and issues; assertive, tenacious, proactive Demonstrate excellent attention to detail with a high level of strategic vision Able to work the long hours when required to communicate with groups in other regions Ability to identify, appropriately escalate issues & risks & consider solutions. Preferred Skills: Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office trading concepts In depth knowledge across different types of testing Experience with full Systems Development Life Cycle. CMM, Six Sigma concepts and methodologies Experience with Hummingbird Experience working directly with Legal
