The IT Project Manager II will be the first responder to incoming project requests requiring IT resources for the Web Technologies Team. They are responsible for facilitating, planning, and coordinating all Corporate and Internal IT Projects requiring IT resources. They will assist in analyzing all projects involving IT resources and assure compliance with standard project planning guidelines while maintaining alignment with IT objectives and corporate priorities. They advise IT Management of over/under allocated staff, missed target dates, potential risks and/or budgetary concerns. They are also responsible for writing project status reports and for project documentation. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for developing and enhancing core project management disciplines within IT and evangelizing these practices/technologies throughout the Corporation. This will be accomplished through formal and informal training, everyday interactions with business Project Managers and via consistent application of an effective project management methodology across groups. Engages IT management and business owners in discussions on prioritization and estimated completion dates with the aim to successfully deliver all critical requirements in an acceptable timeframe within IT resource constraints. Also, recommends improvements to workflow/processes by identifying efficiencies within IT. Managing and controlling project requests from receipt to completion. Administrative duties including status reports, meeting facilitation, project communication meetings, budget preparation, management reporting, staff training. Relationship building with business line project management resources to facilitate a consistent corporate project management methodology while consistently exceeding customer expectations. Developing and enhancing project management disciplines, processes, templates.
Required Skills
Candidates must have 5+ years of Project Management experience, specifically with web applications development projects. An understanding of web technologies is preferred. Project Management Certification (PMP) required, but 6+ years experience as an IT Project Manager or equivalent will be considered as a substitute. Demonstrated experience leading enterprise strategic projects required. Proven project management, leadership, and communication skills (written & verbal). Familiarity with, and a working knowledge of, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite, and/or other Project Management applications. Demonstrated facilitation between business units and technology groups. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Solid communication skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities. Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work and act with minimal supervision. Flexible and able to change to the needs of the day to day requirements. Possess ability to have a strategic view of all active projects to minimize duplication of effort or recognize commonality between projects. Must possess a strong customer service attitude. Responsible for the coordination and completion of Projects requiring IT resources; Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, project change management, monitor staff utilization and summarize progress. Ensures that projects adhere to IT policies, procedures, standards, and project management methodologies. Assists in formulating the scope, objectives, and priorities of each project. Responsible for reporting project progress and status. Design and implement key performance metrics or SLAs (Balanced Scorecard and/or Storyboards) to monitor/ report ongoing activities and progress. This includes Service Desk, Information Security, and Network Systems requirements for production turnover. Coordinates and controls project communication, requests, issues, problems and documentation in an effective, efficient, and timely manner. Coordinates with the appropriate IT departments to ensure proper knowledge of project management standards and techniques, and make recommendations of project management software and tools. Recommends implementation of processes and products to increase project management effectiveness. Serves as a subject matter expert for project management processes and tools. Offers consulting support to departments for new and on-going initiatives. Continuously improving project management processes and tools based on metrics and feedback. Establishes communication plans and roll out strategies for implementing projects.
