I. Position Summary:

The Senior Network Engineer will provide individual leadership and Crewmember career development to Crewmembers on their team and will help preserve our culture as JetBlue grows. Responsible for all aspects of Network Infrastructure Services within their domain area. The candidate will review requirements, understand current business functionalities, propose alternatives, and then work on design and implementation of the proposed solutions as relates to their specific system areas. Additionally, the Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for all planning, implementation, security and operation as relates to their specific operational domain areas.

II. Essential Functions:

? Responsible for day to day operation of the LAN and WAN network infrastructure.
? Maintain and support JetBlue's networking infrastructure including LAN, WAN, Security and others
? Maintain software levels of all networking equipment.
? Maintain network documentation, including diagrams, asset inventory and maintenance agreements.
? Support and troubleshoot networking equipment and associated connections throughout the network infrastructure.
? Analyze traffic patterns and trends to forecast future requirements and plan accordingly.
? Monitor the network infrastructure and address daily issues.

? Supervisor Level - Core Functions
? Keep infrastructure & project manager(s) informed about the status of day-to-day activities of the project(s).
? Supervise and directly work on the design, development, coordination, and evaluation of new and existing infrastructure projects.
? Develop a plan for career pathing and personnel development of junior team members.
? Implement the Network Infrastructure Services vision within the team to help preserve and improve upon the JetBlue culture.
? Develop relationships with the other members of the IT department and business communities.
? Assist in hiring and leading a team and supervise current infrastructure services initiatives.
? Monitor team performance and take corrective action as necessary.
? Manage and execute projects.
?



III. Interactions:

Supervision Received:
Plans and carries out work assignments; resolves most conflicts which arise; coordinates work with others as necessary; interprets policy on own initiative in terms of established objectives. Keeps Crewleader informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far-reaching implications

Supervisory Duties:

Trains and assigns work to Crewmembers on an occasional basis; performs the same work as the group on a regular basis


IV. Minimum Qualifications:

? High School diploma or GED required
? Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
? Cisco certifications a plus
? 5 years experience building and administering Cisco networking equipment
? 5 years experience with networking protocols including TCP/IP
? 5 years experience with WAN services, including Frame Relay, DS1, DS3, ISDN.
? Experience with security products including, Radius, PIX, IDS, VPN.




V. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

? Network Engineer - Specific Competencies
? Knowledge of TCP/IP, Frame Relay, MPLS, ISDN, DSL, T1, DS3, 10/100 Ethernet and GIG-E,VPN-SSL
? Knowledge of Cisco products and software including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless and all aspects of IOS
? Knowledge of network security including Cisco ACS, Radius, TACACS and Active Directory preferred

Engineer Level - Core Competencies
? Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Project, Excel, Word and Visio
? Knowledge of technology fundamentals and concepts (Microsoft technologies preferred)
? Knowledge of JetBlue's business units and how their needs drive IT work
? Ability to work well with others and complete tasks with minimal supervision
? Ability to work effectively with all levels and in diverse environments
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
