I. Position Summary:

This individual supervises all activities related to System Performance Testing at JetBlue IT. The end goal of performance testing is to test systems for capacity, stability and response times. Identify any bottlenecks, using performance testing tools to certify systems for availability and decrease the amount of production ?downtime? due to performance or stability issues.

II. Essential Functions:

Gather and collect key performance indicators from the business
Establish a small group of expert performance engineers/testers that are well versed in best practices of Software Development Life Cycle
Create and execute performance plans
Establish internal processes to JetBlue that align business goals with the testing effort
Addresses issues that are escalated during the Load Testing Cycle
Ensures that appropriate load testing policies and procedures are formulated and established
Provides work and timeframe estimates required for all load testing activities
Present the results and analysis to other team members for a ?GO/NO GO? decision on the application launch into production


III. Interactions:

Supervision Received:

Plans and carries out work assignments; resolves most conflicts which arise; coordinates work with others as necessary; interprets policy on own initiative in terms of established objectives. Keeps Crewleader informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far-reaching implications

Supervisory Duties:

Trains, assigns work to, and checks work of one (1) Crewmember; does not conduct the same work as that Crewmember on a regular basis

IV. Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
Computer Science or related field along with supervisory experience
Minimum of Four (4) years experience in Quality Assurance and Load Testing
Experience with Mercury Tools (TestDirector, WinRunner, QuickTest Pro, LoadRunner)
Regular attendance and punctuality
Experience with effectively writing, operating and maintaining load test scripts
Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

V. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of Mercury tools (TestDirector, WinRunner, QuickTest Pro, and LoadRunner)
Familiarity with Web, Terminal Services, Citrix, SOA, WinSock protocols
Strong knowledge of C, TSL and VBScript programming languages
Knowledge of Software development platforms (.NET, SQL Server, J2EE, SOA)
Knowledge of Performance, Load and Stress testing best practices
Ability to design and execute Performance Test Plans and analyze and communicate the results.
Ability to communicate effectively with other IT Disciplines to develop Test plans and recommend tuning opportunities.
