Their offices are centrally located in downtown Manhattan and easily accessible by almost all the major subway lines, ferry, and path trains. The OMS consists of a front end application that runs on a user's Windows PC and one or more UNIX based servers that maintain databases of financial data and perform application specific processing.



The role of a FIX Specialist will provide direct support of FIX interfaces connecting to electronic equities trading environment. Responsibilities include:

*Setting up new and supported existing FIX client interfaces

*Working closely with the support desk to resolve connectivity issues on OTC and Listed Exchanges.

*Assisting clients on order testing and certifying there proprietary FIX engine to prepare for production.

*Assisting external network providers to get client connectivity established, resolve data line issues and determine if existing data lines need to be upgraded to better meet current line utilization.

*Assisting QA with resolving system bugs and abnormal system behavior

*Knowledge of OTC/Listed orders, FIX tags, order routing and internal quote book.

*Communicate with clients, internal support desk and groups to meet day-to-day business requests.



Candidates will need to demonstrate that they are self-motivated, possess initiative and good problem solving skills, and are able to work in a team, while also assuming responsibility for their work. The potential candidate will need to be comfortable in a dynamic, fast paced environment with a high degree of individual autonomy. Experience:

Degree in a computer-related discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Information Technology.)



. Experience, and a strong desire to learn more about financial trading with a focus on technology.

. A thorough understanding of computing and an aptitude for complex software applications.

. One or more programming or scripting languages (e.g. Perl, Tcl, Visual Basic).

. UNIX (Solaris would be an advantage).

. SQL and related databases (Sybase would be an advantage).

. A desire to join a small team where you can make an active contribution to the business.

. Good familiarity with financial messaging protocols such as FIX, CMS, or STAMP.
