Basic Function:
As part of M&T’s Central Technology division the Project Analyst III will participate in the gathering and analysis of information for defining functional requirements, functional designs, development and implementation of the final project.  Performs routine to moderately complex analysis and research in support of business goals and strategies.  Implements modifications to solve problems.  These functions are performed with general guidance of a more senior project analyst.  Assists in day-to-day support activities.
Responsibilities:
Assists the customers in addressing problems/day to day issues of small to medium scope.  Analyzes information, determines feasible solutions and make recommendations for resolution.
Converts business requirements into functional specification design on small to medium scope assignments.
Develops project assessments and plans, estimate timeframes and effort. 
Team lead projects of small scope under the guidance of a more senior Business Analyst.
Adheres to all current standards and procedures and ensures all efforts are properly tested and documented.
Develops test plans and scripts; performs client testing for routine to moderately complex processes to ensure proper system functioning. 
Provides consultation services to internal customers, technicians and Bank departments on basic to intricate functions of supported mainframe or distributed applications.  This may also include the review of system capabilities, operational procedures, forms, marketing materials or cost analysis.
Develops a thorough understanding of the business being supported and its functions, processes and operations.
Maintains a good functional understanding of the supported application(s).
Participates in planning and implementing new policies and procedures that will improve the performance and effectiveness of the department. 
Develops a professional level of communication and cooperation.
The incumbent works under the general direction of a more senior business analyst and supervision of the Team Leader and is competent to work on most phases of system analysis and application support.
The Project Analyst III possesses detailed functional knowledge of the supported applications’ processing to maintain system integrity on a day-to-day basis.
The incumbent has no supervisory responsibilities, but may assist and help train other technology personnel and clients
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of two to four years college with at least four years experience in a technology/system analysis or operational support environment
Requires strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to understand development processes, procedures and methodologies.
Strong knowledge of personal computers and the ability to effectively use word processing, spreadsheet and internal mail/scheduling software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
Detail oriented, self-motivated, takes initiative to learn new skills and enhance overall knowledge.
Must possess time management and organization skills.
Able to work effectively with personnel in various organizational positions.
Able to handle multiple tasks in support of various assignments.
Asserts ideas, encourages teamwork and acts as a role model.
Ideal Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Preferred general knowledge of Commercial Lending Applications.  Commercial Leasing System – IDS and/or Commercial Loan System - AFS
Demonstrates a good understanding of the business area’s functions and operational processes.
General awareness of the Bank’s application framework.
Ability to lead or actively participate in vendor demonstrations, project presentations, design sessions, Functional Specification walk through.
