A large financial firm in downtown Manhattan seeks a bright individual to work as a Network Systems Technician for a 3-6 month contract. This is a 4 PM to Midnight Shift.

The role of the Network Systems Technician 3 will be to assist with the installations of various service requests entered in by a variety of Business units. The intent is to handle each request diligently and to be able to work in a group as well to perform alone in completing all tasks at hand in a timely manner.

This position requires working in a live Data Center environment where a simple mistake can lead to a major outage costing the company a substantial amount of money. The ability to follow directions and make good decisions is key to being able to avoid outages. This individual must be able to see a project through from beginning to end

Responsibilities:

.Installations (Circuits, servers, routers, switches, etc)
.Updating ticket system (daily basis)
.Updating asset repository (daily basis)
.Removal of trash from the Data Center (Three days a week)
.Trouble shooting (outages related to circuits, servers, routers, switches, etc)
.Cabling (under the floor & within the cabinets)
.Maintenance coverage (Power, air conditioner, fire alarm testing)

Experience: Work closely with the following internal groups: PEI, SSE, Network Engineers, TAM. Assisting with installations and trouble-shooting.

Work semi-frequently with the following external groups: Telco carriers and equipment vendors.

The manager is looking for the following three specifics:
1) 1-3 years working in a data center environment
2) Some PC Skills (You will be working on a ticketing system)
3) Someone prompt who will be on time everyday

This spot is a 4 PM - Midnight shift. There will be plenty of OT available and you will be paid time and a half
