Client has selected Symantec's VERITAS I3 software as their application monitoring software. This software tool allows the client to monitor its applications proactively and aids the IT bureau with application troubleshooting when applications are not performing within predetermined metrics. VERITAS I3 has successfully increased the available time open systems applications are available by decreasing diagnostic time when disruptions occur.
The hired consultant will assist client with establishing a Performance Management Center of Excellence. The following four phases describe the activities needed to reach this goal:
* Phase 1 - Design, Deploy & Test Performance Management Application
* Phase 2 - Assign Ownership, Conduct Knowledge Transfer, Document Processes
* Phase 3 - Develop Performance Strategy, Implement Initial IT Service Goals, Build Agreement with Organizations and Business Units
* Phase 4 - Operate a Performance Management Center of Excellence
Experience: Mandatory Expereince
1. Five years of progressive data processing experience
2. Two years experience providing technical support in a large scale Client/Server open systems environment for Microsoft Windows NT/2000/2003 (or latest version of Microsoft Operating Systems) server operating system
Desirable Experience
1. Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills (Interview)
Face to Face Interview Required
2. Two or more years experience functioning as a project manager.
3. Two or more years experience with application load testing and troubleshooting. This includes developing test plans and defining metrics to troubleshoot application problems.
4. Two or more years experience establishing procedures and policies for application monitoring. This includes areas such as: initial requests for new application, detailed analysis, release testing, establishing performance strategies, service goals, and SLAs with business units.
5. Two or more years experience conducting training and knowledge transfer to technical staff.
6. Two or more years experience giving presentations to technical and non-technical staff.
7. One or more years of experience with monitoring Microsoft .Net applications.
8. One or more years of experience with monitoring J2EE applications.
