My client is in need of a <b> Linux Administrator. </b> <b> Application Autodesk experience is a plus. </b>

<b><u><font color= "#3399CC"> Linux Administrator Responsibilities: </font color= "#3399CC"></u></b><br><ul>
<li> LINUX system administration experience with variety of fluency in administrative languages (e.g. C, C++, Perl, Python, php). <br> <li> Understanding of API libraries and tools for custom development and implementation of software. <br>
<li> Fundamental understanding of networking and distributed computing environment concepts and management, including a thorough understanding of TCP/IP. (VoIP, Infiniband over IP) <br>
<li> Experience managing and integrating TCP/IP LANs and WANs. Familiarity with network topologies and hardware, including cable systems, routers, hubs, and firewalls. Security procedures/protocols for internal infrastructure and connected external client infrastructure. <br>
<li> Design and administration/security for a client-owned point-to-point 10g fiber connection into the LAN. <br>
<li> Experience using and configuring Internet services like DNS, HTTP, SMTP, IMAP, NFS, and NIS+.<br>
<li> Hardware experience with LINUX workstations and PCs, and the ability to install and configure peripherals. <br>
<li> High level of expertise with LINUX and Microsoft Windows fundamentals, commands and utilities, and distributed workstation computing (CPU & GPU). <br>
<li> Experience with Avid, Adobe, and Autodesk configurations/platforms. Design procedures and infrastructure for streamlining interoperability between these systems. <br>
<li> Storage/backup/retrieval of high volume data, including maintenance and support for SANs and LTO libraries. Development of a secure web application for entry and search tools for tracking projects/assets to be used by creative’s, schedulers, archivists, and clients. <br>
<li> Membership in SMPTE/AES/ISO – familiarity with emerging standards and the impact on our business model and infrastructure (e.g., Broadband 23B, MXF EG-41, AES55, MPEG21, etc.) <br>
<li> Ability to identify, design, and schedule future infrastructure construction within budget parameters while providing complete cost breakdown and alternatives. This would include scheduling and hiring personnel and vendors for construction, with complete documentation of cabling/wiring changes, return on investment and amortization schedules.<br>
<li> Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical personnel, to work well with others, and explain clearly why a specific request may be unrealistic, improper, or bad practice. <br>
<li> Develop and maintain communication channels with a variety of vendors, providing an ‘inside track’ toward future platforms and systems development to aid in future planning decisions/deferrals and to steer vendors toward development of our workflow. <br>
<li> Overall - design, construct, and maintain mission-critical systems/procedures that are state-of-the-art, reliable, scalable, secure, inexpensive, and extremely fast. <br>
