Job Responsibilities
This is a technical position, responsible for producing and maintaining the technical elements of ESPN mobile content for iPhone.

With over 8 million unique users per month, ESPN Mobile Web is the most popular mobile sports web site in the world and one of the largest mobile content properties; it is featured on many US wireless carriers (Sprint, Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile, Alltel, and more) and is available across a wide spectrum of Internet-enabled mobile devices, including the iPhone.

Typical duties for a web developer include: template maintenance and creation, special event coverage support, daily production support for editorial, investigation and implementation of new technologies, especially with respect to Mobile Safari. This position acts as a technical liaison between the operations personnel and the creative and content teams to explain technical tools and protocols and ensure that desired content and templates are correctly published to the site.

The developer will own all production tasks related to ESPN’s mobile web site and mobile applications for iPhone as a member of the Mobile Production team, which also produces ESPN Mobile Web for all devices, ESPN Alerts, ESPN MVP and more.
Experience: Required Qualifications
BA degree, Computer Science preferred. 2-4 years of web development and/or mobile application experience, iPhone apps or webapps preferred. Server-side template programming (JSP/ASP/PHP) a must, Tea experience a plus. Expert knowledge of HTML, Javascript and CSS. Project management, product planning, databases, graphic design, advertising integration, analytics (Google Analytics/Hitbox/Omniture), and structured programming (Java, C++) are all relevant. Mobile experience and industry knowledge are a big plus. Must be a strong communicator, passionate about sports, and committed to delivering the ultimate mobile experience for sports fans.
