We have an immediate need for a Senior Java Developer for a 12 month contract in Downtown NYC
JOB DESCRIPTION
Designs, develop and maintains working architecture models.
- Develops enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features.
- BS in computer science or equivalent
- In-depth knowledge of J2EE development technologies preferably in a clustered environment
- Rigorous architecture and application design experience using UML
- Good understanding of application servers (Web Logic, Web Sphere or Oracle 10gAS) and hardware machines that they run on Linux / Unix servers
- Excellent understanding and experience with J2EE technologies including, JDBC, JSP custom tags, Servlet API, EJBs, Jars, Ears, Deployment Descriptors, Message Queuing (JMS), ANT, JUNIT, open source frameworks like Spring or Hibernate, Apache Struts 4, Design Patterns, Frameworks, Ability to refactor code to extract common patterns (GoF must), Database, XML, XSD and other XML technologies, Strong Agile and RUP skills
- Must have team leadership experience, estimation skills and delegation experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work with business analysts and business stake holders
- Experience with end-to-end software life, from requirements through shipment. Must understand hardware and network scaling issues.
- Ability to translate business requirements into specifications using formal systems such as UML and should have willingness to jump in and code, install and do everything necessary to make the software work
- In-depth knowledge of object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs in Java and C++
- Strong organizational, leadership, delegation and prioritization skills
