Location: New YorkType of Position: Contract Job Description: Risk Horizontal is tasked with building a shared set of components, services and analytics 'brokers' for risk management across the investment bank. This hire will be a senior team member to help analyze the problems, help design solutions and implement the technology. Deep, proven experience building robust C# based application Servers is a must. Demonstrable expertise in the.NET platform and C# language - will be expected to efficiently solve real-world challenges in applying.NET in a global solution under high load (memory, CPU, threading, managed/unmanaged layers, etc). Main focus is development but expect ability to help deploy robustly and diagnose production issues. Strong design and architecture skills including OO design and multi-tier messaging frameworks. Ability to help design robust global risk platform solutions. Ability to code with high quality and deliver software on time to meet project milestones SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES (eg shifts, travel overseas, hours): Staff may occasionally need to be on calls with Singapore and London in their time zone and some weekend work on production releases, but no actual shift work. Qualifications: Provision of relevant technical designs, unit test docs and release documentation. Team player fostering a collaborative and cooperative approach to software development. 5+ years of commercial software development in the Finance/Banking sector. UPDATE = 3 years of commercial software development experience in the Finance/Banking sector. Significant experience of full development/project life-cycle Experience with Design patterns Proven OO programming experience C# development skills are required. Knowledge of risk management, trading and how system software aids trading and risk decision making is a big plus Strong design and architecture skills including OO design and multi-tier messaging frameworks. Desirable Skills: Experience working in a global team, including excellent communication skills. Excellent business writing skills. Ability to review and improve more junior team member designs and solutions. Development in the Finance/Banking sector is a plus. Team player fostering a collaborative and cooperative approach to software development. Strong problem-solving skills.
