Data Feed Business Analyst in New York, NY

A well known financial services company located in New York City is looking for a Business Analyst with Data feeds and Equities knowledge.

Specific responsibilities of this role are focused primarily on the distribution component of our Research technology infrastructure.
Establish and monitor project requirements, priorities, impacts and deadlines. Understand their implications to the CIRA business, and deliver appropriate global solutions that satisfy all regional businesses.
Oversee and manage all aspects of the project life cycle. Ensure co-ordination between all parties involved.
Manage expectations of all project stakeholders.
Ensure smooth, efficient, cost-effective use and delivery of technology.
Gather and understand performance metrics, and actively work to improve service and make more efficient use of technology.
Fully support other ITS project managers (and vice-versa), in the process gaining a full understanding of the global research business.
Understand industry trends and how they affect CIR technology systems.
Actively manage the allocated budget, and contribute to the budgeting process.
Work with the information security officer and legal/regulatory staff to ensure appropriate corporate, department, and/or regulatory standards are met.
Perform a business and technology advisory role for all projects involving businesses that interact with CIRA, such as Equity Sales/Trading, Fixed Income/Economic Research etc.
All of the above responsibilities are to be achieved through partnership with CIRA Technology.
Experience: Qualifications
8+ years of work experience, including 3+ years in technology business analysis in a global operation, and 3+ years as a project manager responsible for global, multi-tier, technology projects.
Excellent client servicing skills
Good understanding of technology (both hardware and software); ability to assess the validity of a technological solution and its cost estimate.
Proven communications skills (both verbal and written) to build trusting partnership with business clients, technology team members and other stakeholders to deliver solutions.
Ability to summarize/explain/present requirements and technology solutions in non-technical terms.
Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to broker agreements amid priority conflicts across multiple stakeholders.
Understanding of the Equity Research business is highly desired.
Experience with Equity Research systems - authoring, financial database, distribution, disclosures - is a strong advantage.
Excellent Word and Excel skills are required.
Ability to work within a geographically disperse team environment and positively affect the team dynamics.
Experience in quality assurance of technology projects.
Self-motivated, highly-focused, detail-oriented as well as a team player with high energy levels and the desire to learn and progress within the company.
