A large financial organization located in downtown Manhattan seens a consultant to work as a Program Manager for a 9 month + contract.

The successful candidate will be Responsible for overseeing a series of projects within a department or business unit.
Assess and advise on improving process and methodologies of current project
management implications throughout project timeline; including development of
strategies, readiness assessment, development of training and communications.
Works with project managers to identify redundancies and duplications of efforts
across projects and eliminate. Acts as mentor to project managers. Able to motivate
project managers to build cooperative work teams. Able to identify, develop, and
direct team members' strengths, technological resources and organizational
processes to build teams. Advanced in the use of project management software/
concepts. Comprehensive knowledge of business unit's functions. Strong
communication skills to work with senior management to deliver requirements.
Strong analytical, problem solving, quality management, and organizational skills.
Comprehensive understanding of project management theory and team dynamics.
Proven ability to effectively collaborate with others, initiate action and adapt to
change. Proven ability to make tough decisions and accept challenging assignments.
Demonstrated ability to accurately estimate costs and develop and implement
project plans within budgetary guidelines. 4 year degree. Over 7 years
Project/Program management experience and PMP certification.

Additional information:
Responsibilities 1.) Prior project management experience. 2.) Capturing
Metrics/Milestones. 3.) Review application lists by line of business, location &
users for completeness. 4.) Provide timeline & cost for application remediation
(where applicable). 5.) Verify app owners, prioritize/schedule work effort, make
any necessary modifications. 6.) Identify testers and provide timeline for testing.
7.) Basic SDLC knowledge. 8.) Possesses general understanding in the areas
of application programming, database and system design 9.) Resolves and/or
escalates issues in a timely fashion. 10.) Regular Status reporting. 11.)
Identifying priorities in consultation with the client and changing the schedule.
12.) Establishing & Monitoring the processes for Issue Management, Change
Management and Quality Management.

Skill Set 1.) Project Planning & Tracking 2.) Progress Reporting 3.) Windows
Administrator 4.) Understanding of Capital Markets (Equity trading or Equity
derivatives) 5.) Tivoli Endpoint knowledge 6.) eSupport Agent knowledge

Experience: MUST be a US Citizen, EAD or Green Card Holder for this role.
