Summary:We have an opening for someone to handle production support duties in the Mortgage department. The position requires someone with a technical background but the person will not be required to do much programming duties outside of some potential scripting work. *There will be some light Java development providing the person has that ability to handle it and providing that the production support is lighter than usual at that time to allow them the opportunity to work on something else Database/SQL (no specific database, just SQL) knowledge is mandatory. The candidate should come from a background where a demonstrated high response level to support issues was part of the job, so a sense of urgency is required.This is a very good position for someone who is looking to get into a position that will allow them to grow. They currently have a team of developers who are responsible for the internal applications mentioned above, that same team currently rotates the production support duties. This resource they are adding will handle the production support and from time to time may have the opportunity to get more involved with the development. RESPONSIBILITIES:There is an XML messaging gateway running over the internet with an outside vendor. This vendor provides trade updates (up to 3000 per day) for loans purchased on this vendor's web site. These loan updates feed into our internal trading system and it is critical that we monitor these messaging flows to ensure we don't have an outage that could disrupt these loans making it into our trading and books & records systems. Typically there are about 20-30 errors in the messaging flows that need to be investigated and this is what the resource will be handling on a day to day basis. The group also has other internal applications such as trade and position viewer tools this person would be responsible for supporting as well.
