Specific configuration experience and detailed familiarity with at least some of the following areas: Currency Types, Parallel Currencies, Validations and Substitutions, Cross-Company Code Posting, Payment Block functionality in AP, Head Office/Branch processing in AR, FI Billing using Correspondence Types and/or Idocs, FI aspects of Credit Management, Special Ledger, Cost Centre Accounting and Profit Centre Accounting
The other key prerequisite is a good understanding of the integration points between the FI, CO, and PS modules, together with a sound grasp of those between the financial modules and SD & MM.
Global implementation experience, particularly within a SAP COE will be a distinct advantage.
Prior experience of adapting SAP to a Service sector environment would be definitely advantageous, as would some knowledge and experience of both SEM and BW.
Working as Senior FI/CO Consultant in the SAP FMS team your responsibilities include:
. Prime responsibility for designing, developing, implementing and controlling the Currency and FI module areas of the IPG templates to meet global and local legal/business requirements (ensuring all core FMS business requirements are maintained, new business needs are proactively supported, and new SAP functionality delivers business benefits)
. Overall responsibility for the execution and control of all currency and FI aspects of Master Client configuration, and for comprehensive Regression testing before any changes are released to the Production environment
. Liaise with other CoE FMS members to maintain and apply coherent, optimised, integrated, and standardised processes
. Liaise with other CoE teams to communicate FMS FI and currency aspects, and co-ordinate and optimise cross-module requirements
. Prepare comprehensive documentation required according to methodology for currency and FI aspects
. Prepare formal ABAP specification documentation as required
. Support the entire implementation effort during all project stages, ensuring that in areas of assigned responsibility milestones and related sign-offs are achieved on a timely basis and in accord with current project plan
. Monitor progress of all currency and FI tasks against project plan
. Actively promote the global template approach within the organization
. Involvement in SAP R/3 demonstrations as required
. Any other duties as directed by the NA FMS manager
. In R/3 4.7 must have an expert knowledge of the FI module and global currency aspects, a sound knowledge of the CO module, as well as a general awareness of broader ongoing SAP developments
. Absolute minimum 5 years hands-on FI/CO configuration experience
. Completion of a minimum of 4 distinct SAP implementations as a member of the FI (or FI/CO) team, with good exposure to the integration points with SAP Logistics modules in at least 2 implementations
. Global implementation experience, particularly within a SAP COE will be a distinct advantage
. Persuasive and convincing advocate of the necessity for a centrally-owned template approach in a global implementation
. Show initiative
. Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
. Be prepared to travel as required (minimum travel) Experience: Excellent technical knowledge coupled with extensive hands-on experience of configuring and delivering business solutions in FI. Strengths required are in the GL, AP, AR and Special Ledger sub-modules, currency configuration and period end closing processes. A sound technical knowledge coupled with good hands-on experience of configuring and delivering business solutions in CO. Strengths required are in the CCA, PCA & Internal Orders areas.
