. Develop and maintain a full understanding of all segments of the customers computing environments.
. Deploy application code as required in any or all computing environments.
. Monitor system performance in all processing environment. Detect trends and proactively address potential performance issues.
. Diagnose system problems, work with Release Engineering team and other technical areas to maintain high levels of availability and performance.
. Research evolving technologies to enhance the site
. Maintain CVS source code repository
. Establish and maintain solid source code management discipline within application development staff.
. Help manage software development cycle.
. Generate reports on code modifications.
. Build applications for deployment.
. Maintain versioning and tagging standards
. Distribute code and executables to customer
. Other Duties as required to include:
o TOC's - (Technician on Call): provide 24x7 support on a rotating basis.
o Support TOC Team on complex problems.
o Maintain TOC documentation and guides.
o Provide installation documentation to the customer and management.
o Maintain internal support documentation
o Utilize broad skill base and internal support network to find solutions to problems.
o Provide consultation to management and customer as needed for technical and process issues
o Provide creative problem resolution, be able to recommend alternate courses of action to solving problems
o Provide "Big Picture" understanding of the system for both staff and management
o Responding to specific customer support and information requests.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
. 2+ years experience as a Release Engineer or Systems Engineer on an internet-based business system
. 2+ years experience in source code management with expertise in code management tools, such as CVS.
. Experience with MS/Office suite, expertise in MS/Word
. Experience with UNIX or Linux, including shell scripts
. Effective interpersonal and time management skills
. Effective written and verbal communication skills
. Analytical thinking and problem solving skills
. Ability to understand complex business concepts and translate into clear, complete test plans
. Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
. Experience with XML, and familiarity with associated technologies, such as XSL
