Supports voice, client/server infrastructure, and data communications including office systems, network planning and development and voice communications. Works under general supervision to complete communications projects. Manages small projects or tasks on larger projects. Interfaces with communications and server infrastructure systems users to identify needs and assist in implementation.
II. Principal Accountabilities
1. Assist in the analysis and evaluation of voice, data communications, or server infrastructure systems and communications hardware.
2. May be assigned as project manager. In this capacity, prepare project plans and managesprojects to assure objectives are met on time and within cost. Evaluate performance of project team and report performance upon project completion to management.
3. Perform communications or server infrastructure projects, such as: reviewing vendor supplied technical descriptions and performance data and pricing information for applicability to specifications; installing and configuring hardware and software; installing and implementing vendor packages; assessing user needs for communications systems; and recommending voice, server infrastructure or data communications standards.
4. Assist in training and orientation of other staff and/or users.
5. Develop proficiency in project management skills.
6. Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events.
