Our client's Global Applications Group is searching for a Business Analyst to fill an immediate need on a software development project. The positions primary responsibility is to manage the requirements and functional design throughout the project lifecycle. This position will be a vital member to the project team and work closely with business owners, application architects, in-house and off-shore developers, application support managers, and end-users.
Responsibilities:
? Work closely with business owners to understand the vision of the solution and gather and analyze requirements.
? Apply business constraints on quality, time, and/or cost to define and manage scope of the solution.
? Devise the functional solution and conduct reviews with business owners to ensure that all requirements are met, and with fellow project team members to ensure feasibility of the design.
? Convey functional design to development team and act as the liason between the business owners and developers.
? Participate in the review of all project deliverables, including the requirements, functional and technical design, project plan, test plan and scripts, user manuals and training aids, and the solution itself.
? Design visual aids, proof of concepts or mock ups to demonstrate functional design patterns or user interface design.
? Ensure timely and accurate communication with business owners and project team throughout the project lifecycle.
? Participate in work estimation sessions and provide input to the project plan on a regular basis.
? Aid the support team during transition from development to user acceptance test and deployment, and throughout the support and maintenance of the solution.
? Review and validate the solution during development, quality assurance test, and user acceptance test. Ensure that the solution adheres to business requirements.
? Document important business and development decisions.
? Maintain abreast of latest industry news that affect the business as well as in latest software technology and development processes.
? Prepare and/or present documentation for business presentations.
Qualifications:
? Experience in software development with a solid understanding of software development methodology is required.
? Knowledge of best practices in usability design for web-based and client server applications is required.
? Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
? Experience in the media and advertising industry is strongly preferred.
