Primary responsibilities of position: The Oracle RAC DBA must comply with the following skills:
* UNIX AIX 5L experience
* Database design and analysis experience both in an Oracle 9i and 10G environment
* Practical experience with systems design and analysis
* Proven hands on background in transition of stand alone Oracle 9i/10G databases into an Oracle RAC environment
* Experience with Oracle 9i/10g Data Guard
* >3 years experience as a Senior Oracle database administrator
* Proven experience in defining and implementing database backup/recovery schemes in an Oracle and RAC environment
* Performance tuning and optimization in an Oracle 9i/10G/ RAC environment
* 2 or more successful production Oracle RAC implementations
* Experience in creating both logical and physical model designs
* Experience with designing/implementing database security models
* Experience with RMAN
* Proven problem resolution of Oracle DBMS
* Experience creating install scripts and procedures
* Working knowledge of database replication and heterogeneous data access concepts
* Working knowledge of networks and ability to resolve network connectivity issues
* Understanding of testing theory and ability to make recommendations to improve testing process
* Person will need to be available for off shift work occasionally in a support capacity or to implement new functionality.
