The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey is a bistate public agency responsible for promoting transportation and commerce, operating some of the busiest and most important transportation links in the region including bridges, tunnels, bus terminals, airports, PATH, AirTrain systems, and the NY/NJ seaport.

In this position, you will initiate and implement a variety of complex technology initiatives with the agency's Procurement Department, and provide staff supervision on a project basis. Some responsibilities include redesigning our web site to provide more information about procurements, expanding the number and variety of procurements that are publicly reported, and increasing the quantity and improving quality of the data being reported via the web site; redesigning the intranet site to make information readily available and clear to internal staff; designing, constructing and implementing agency and managerial reports that are critical to procurement business planning and analysis; and developing processes utilized to collect and organize key data.

Candidates will possess a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Information Technology or a related discipline. Experience in designing, developing and maintaining relational databases is desired. Previous experience in technology-based project management and management of service contracts, including service level agreements is preferred. Demonstrated ability in the Internet and web-based technology and services, database technology and a wide array of desktop applications is necessary. An understanding of operating systems and networks systems is essential. Familiarity with associated development platforms and design tools is required. Knowledge of software applications and languages utilized to prepare complex statistical analyses and reports as well as the ability to analyze and manipulate quantitative data through the use of these technologies is imperative. Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project and 3rd-party reporting tools such as Crystal Reports is required. Strong creative, multi-tasking, customer service, management, problem solving, analytical, presentation, written and oral communication skills are essential.
