Summary
The project manager works with various functional areas to ensure their technology needs are met in a thorough and timely manner. To do so, the project manager serves as both a business analyst, who understands business processes, and a technical facilitator, who recommends how technical solutions can be used to optimize existing processes. The project manager will have primary client relationship responsibility for Teach For America teams that have high-volume technology requests or have close interaction with senior management within Teach For America. In addition, the project manager will have responsibility for large cross-functional, high visibility, and high impact systems and projects. This position requires results-orientation, a focus on delivering tangible efficiency improvements through technology, and a flexible, entrepreneurial approach to solving problems. The project manager reports directly to the vice president, technology development.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
. Capturing, clarifying, and translating business requirements and complex operational processes, across a geographically dispersed organization, into technical solutions. Drive the process from understanding of the issue, through necessary documentation and final resolution and implementation of solution. Facilitate review and final approval of these documents.
. Managing organizational resources efficiently
. Developing and maintaining cost-conscious project plans that meet organizational objectives and timelines for both technology solutions and business process improvements
. Serving as the organizational expert on applications and providing training and demonstrations as needed
. Managing client relationships with departments with large technology needs or that report to senior management
. Identifying key project stakeholders both internally and externally, including vendors, and managing those relationships in support of a comprehensive approach to each project
. Managing and communicating the status of active and pending projects to all stakeholders on a regular basis
. Create and maintain meeting minutes and action items
. Managing issue escalation and resolution
. Defining, revising, and recommending improvements to business processes
. Assessing the scope of projects, including the direct and indirect costs of completion
. Identifying opportunities to solve business problems through a mix of existing solution enhancements and new software development
. Developing critical user documentation and training materials for technical solutions
. Function as a team builder for projects managed
Education and Experience
. Bachelor's degree is required, an advanced degree is a plus
. At least four years of both project management and business analysis experience and two or more years of previous experience as a technical project contributor (preferably as a developer or designer) is required
. Experience with system integration, content and/or contact management implementation projects is preferred, but not required
. Experience with open source solutions, web development, and both traditional and Agile development methodologies, would also be preferred
. Can demonstrate a record of creating and managing detailed organizational systems, and coordinating projects across a diverse group of stakeholders
