UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking an Information Security Specialist to join our Albany, NY team. The successful candidates should possess minimally three years of experience in Information Technology Security. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:1. Assist the Information Security Officer with the review and development of security controls to ensure identification and authentication of information users and protect information according to confidentiality standards.2. Create project plans for, as well as program, develop, document and maintain, internet web-based applications using the Microsoft .Net framework. Experience: To be considered for the position, candidates must possess the following mandatory skills and experience:1. A minimum of three (3) years experience as an Information Security specialist.2. Valid information security credential(s) from reputable and verifiable source(s) (i.e. CISSP) Candidates with the following desirable experience will be considered first:1. Demonstrated experience with information security technical controls for identification and authentication for access and accountability2. Demonstrated experience with management controls to ensure conformance with confidentiality requirements promulgated by control agencies and/or federal authorities 3. Demonstrated hands-on experience with Information Security management and mentoring staff of an Information Security office4. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing information security policies and procedures5. Demonstrated experience using security best practices, technologies, and approved methods to improve an information security program6. Demonstrated experience in developing documented procedures to assist staff in following approved standards and guidelines to promote information security7. Demonstrated experience developing clearly defined organizational responsibilities to protect information and information systems8. Demonstrated experience working with security awareness and training to inform staff, customers, and business partners about the need to adhere to proper rules and methods that concern information security9.
