The Technical Producer is multi-dimensional role with responsibilities that range from hands-on technical development (coding) to project management. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the development of some of the most successful and highest profile applications on the web.
Responsibilities
Lead the technical production staff with the development and maintenance of ESPN360.com, ESPN Video and other video initiatives
Provide project management support for video products and services
Manage QA process/bug triaging of video products
Participate in the creation of applications and features using front-end web technologies such as Tea, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (AJAX/JSON), and other client-side web development processes
Serve as bridge between engineering, design, editorial, marketing, sales and affiliate groups.
Assist in the technical analysis and evaluation of new technologies, products, and product enhancements.
Mentor fellow producers in the technical development of features for the video products and services.
Lead the development of assigned projects and tasks.
Experience: Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree, preferable in Computer Science or a related technology field, or work experience equivalent to formal qualification.
• Candidate must have at least 5 years of overall experience with at least three years experience in the following: hands-on web development experience in a professional environment, working with a structured programming language (C/C++, ASP, JSP, PHP, etc) and writing technical specs and driving them through development
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Good understanding of benefits and constraints of current Internet technologies and familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Flash, and DHTML is a very strong plus.
• Ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
• Strong communication skills.
