Responsibilities:
The Tivoli Administrator is responsible and accountable for end-to-end monitoring and management of application, network, and system health and performance. Assist in the strategic planning along with application and infrastructure teams to for deployment of a next-generation Tivoli infrastructure and operations management framework. Primary responsibilities include:
Deploy, support, and maintain the IBM Tivoli Netcool/ OMNIbus/TEC environment including filter-builder, automations, and rules-writing. Providing application and infrastructure health and welfare monitoring.
Customize and extend Tivoli System Management products based on business and technology partner requirements.
Provide end-user training, and supporting documentation supporting the IBM systems management tools.
Ensure monitoring profiles and notification rules match business partner and technology team's expectations.
Deploy, support, and maintain Tivoli Configuration Manager/Inventory Manager within a high-availability.
Monitor run-time components, maintaining high performance and availability
Partner with Configuration Management and Application Teams, developing distribution packages, managing data movement, and maintaining schedules
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to product infrastructure and related custom code
Work with Technology Architecture Team on standards, product roadmap, and architecture decisions based on the enterprise blueprint
Monitor and assess impact of related security patches and work with support team on recommendations
Deploy, support, and maintain the IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler environment including comprehensive workload planning, execution, and control of the custom applications.
Provide 24 x 7 support as needed.

The Tivoli Administrator demonstrates solid technical knowledge of TWS, TCM, Tivoli monitoring products to provide superior support for business and technology partners.
. Displays sense of urgency when responding to production outages or user/customer requests.
. Proficient technical skills in area of responsibility.
. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments supporting business as usual routines as well as special projects covering national/regional initiatives.
. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
. Partners closely with the Subject Matter Experts to communicate issues, trends, corrective action plans and opportunities that are apparent in interim monitoring.
. Exhibit sound judgment, logical reasoning, and a strong drive for results and success.
. Develops relationships with key business and technology partners by building personal credibility and solid trust.
. Provide proper root cause analysis and recovery action plans to complex issues as it relates to areas of responsibility.


Experience: Qualifications:
The Tivoli Administrator will have the following minimum qualifications:
. Minimum of three years work experience with Systems Management and Monitoring in a national/regional production environment.
. Experience with IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus/TEC, Configuration Management (TCM), and Workload Schedule (TWS) required.
. Experience with other Systems and Network Management applications are a plus: BMC Patrol, CA Unicenter, HP OpenView, Microsoft Operations Manager/System Center, and EMC SMARTS.
. Scripting experience required (preferably Perl, UNIX shell); VB or Sql is a plus.
. Superior technical and troubleshooting skills.
. Ability to isolate and diagnose technical problems in a distributed enterprise environment.
. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently.
. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required, including the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to all levels of end users skills necessary.
. Professional Certification is a plus.
