Position Description
The Learning and Development team seeks a highly motivated instructional designer to join our team and develop interactive computer based training (CBT). The candidate we seek is knowledgeable in instructional design, CBT authoring tools, delivery, and support of computer based training programs, and is driven to produce engaging and effective learning solutions.
-Uses needs assessment tools to determine effectiveness of training programs.
-Links needs analysis results for learning objectives and training approaches to design training programs.
-Interacts with functional organizations to develop specifications for content of courses.
-Creates detailed design documentation including prototypes and storyboards.
-Communicates design concepts to other project members.
-Conducts follow up to determine applicability of course material.
-Develops training programs, individually and in conjunction with the eLearning Development Team
-Tests and documents training programs.
-Supports classroom delivery of courses; maintains and updates courses as needed.
-Maintains current knowledge in the state of the art in eLearning development, in a self-driven manner.
-All other duties as assigned.
Note: Travel may be required to support changing business needs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
-A Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or 1+ years of experience in training development.
-Excellent teamwork skills.
-Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Detail oriented with excellent problem solving skills.
-Desire to learn new Internet authoring and delivery technologies for eLearning.
-Experience with sound editing and graphics production a plus.
-Proficiency in procedural and object-oriented programming in Javascript or Actionscript preferred.
-Knowledge of relational databases including SQL and relational database design a plus.
-Experience with LMS and LCMS technologies a plus.
-Commitment to timelines and project deliverables.
-Due to business needs, extra hours may be required.
