My client, located in Manhattan seeks a strong Desktop Support Specialist. The ideal candidate will be working in an environment dealing with technical issues as they arise. The Desktop Support Analyst must be a quick thinker and learner, someone that is comfortable working in a team as well as working alone. The key to obtaining this position is great communication skills. Our client wants a Help Desk Support Specialist that can assist the end user in walking them through issues and teaching them along the way. Very good communication skills are required for this position. The Desktop Support Analyst will provide technical expertise to the environment but must also possess great people skills in training the end users on future issues.

You must have Novell Server Experience in order to qualify for this role.

Qualifications :
- Experience with Microsoft Technologies is a must. br> - Experience with Novell Server is a must
- Advanced knowledge and ability to troubleshoot Windows 2000/XP operating systems
- Extensive understanding of MS Office 2000/2003
including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge of remote access applications.
- Knowledge Citrix, Palm Pilots, and Blackberry devices and software a plus.
- Experience with troubleshooting Printers (both network and stand alones).
•Ability to escalate more difficult technical issues to appropriate levels of support.
