Job Purpose/ Description:

. Siebel OLAP: Working knowledge of the Siebel Data Warehouse: Key generation, WIDS, Slowly changing dimensions, basic table sources, etc. Concrete familiarity with OLTP-to-OLAP. Proven experience with EIM Data Loads.

. Siebel Analytics: Use of the Siebel Analytics tool. Ability to discuss the architectural components of the tool (Security, aggregation, Logical columns, etc). Demonstrated knowledge of migration techniques of reports and repository.

. Siebel Data Warehousing: Multi Terabyte data warehousing experience. Understanding the design considerations for star schemas and its relationships. Understanding the concept of data rollups/aggregation, capacity planning, data standardization, slowly changing dimensions, and data security.

. Informatica (version 7 and up): Multiple project experience with Informatica. Ability to communicate design considerations using this tool. Practical experience in loading data, troubleshooting mappings, tuning mappings, etc. Informatica 7.1 is preferable.

. Experience with Teradata OR Oracle (version 9i/10g): Multi-terabyte data experience with Oracle 8/9i/10g, demonstrates the basic ability/understanding to design data structures, performance tune data loads and ability to read/write PL/SQL.

. UNIX: Proven experience with reading and writing Shell Scripts (ksh). Ability to navigate, edit/find files, check disk space and transfer files. Knowledge of performance monitoring tools in the UNIX environment.

. Communication skills: Must have the ability to communicate effectively with business and technical users in both an oral and written manner. Must also be able to demonstrate ability to troubleshoot technology and business problems. Provide insight based on previous experience. Must work well independently and in a team environment


Tasks and Responsibilities:

. Strong knowledge of programming / systems analysis, as well as quality assurance, prototyping, construction, integration, and migration functions; possesses a strong understanding of programming languages, development tools, and the current environment.

. Displays problem solving and analytical skills, using them to resolve technical problems; possesses a strong understanding of business requirements and IT strategies.

. Draws on broad knowledge base (e.g., infrastructure, technology, and applications) to analyze complex problems and contribute to troubleshooting efforts.

. Leverages strong design understanding and/or capabilities (e.g., database, application code, reusable objects, and interfaces) to optimize development efforts in a distributed environment.

. Good understanding of development technology used to support one or more business operations areas.

. May be required to coordinate small numbers of junior staff in the execution of projects.

. Responds to direct questions from IT Management or the business on the effects of emerging technologies on product development and business directions; may provide buy vs. build recommendations or assist in platform determination.

Required education/experience:

. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.

. 6 to 10 years of IT work experience in systems programming / analysis

. Typically experienced across two Information Technology areas or in a single system / applications software development technology across multiple computing platforms.

. Practical experience of project management disciplines.
