As a Websphere Portal Developer, you will be required to develop and support web-based applications, particularly IBM WebSphere Portal applications. You will be responsible for understanding business requirements, designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining application systems.

Duties/Responsibilities

Develop end-to-end architecture of component-based, service-oriented internet/intranet web applications using J2EE and IBM's WebSphere Portal Platform

You must possess the following qualities:

Ability to communicate orally and in writing with both technical and non-technical staff
Ability to adapt to changing technology and priorities
Advanced planning, organizing, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Ability to identify risks and barriers through quantification and analyze how to avoid them

Experience: Required Background/Experience

Bachelor's degree
5+ years experience in web application design and development using Java, J2EE, JSP, Object-Oriented design, EJBs, Portlets, Servlets, XML, JDBC and SQL, and JavaScript
2+ years experience with IBM WebSphere Portal 5.1/6.0, WebSphere Application Server, and WebSphere Portal technologies, including custom Portal development, administration, Document Manager, Content Manager, Portal Portlets, the IBM Portlet API, and the JSR-168 API
Working knowledge of WebSphere administration and development tools such as RAD, WSAD, and the Eclipse IDE
Basic understanding of security technologies such as Digital Certificates, LDAP, and SSO
Understanding of the overall system functioning, including interaction with other system components such as DB2, Oracle, Citrix, Business Objects, Cognos, WebSphere Portlet factory, and Domino
Proficient in analysis, design, code, unit test, integration, and deployment support

Major Pluses to Have

Advanced degree
Experience with WebSphere Studio, Rational Unified Process (RUP), or Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)
