Job Purpose
The Systems Engineer implements, maintains, documents, augments and upgrades the firm's Enterprise Systems. This position involves supporting/troubleshooting server and OS issues, maintaining and implementing datacenter HW, maintaining an integration environment for evaluating/designing new technologies, tracking HW lease returns, and maintaining system and procedural documentation. This individual also possesses knowledge of Active Directory administration and NTFS security sufficient to troubleshoot and support, has a solid, practical knowledge of the TCIP protocol, and understands backup architectures. All systems engineers are able to function independently in resolving technical issues, carrying out daily operational responsibilities, and conducting project oriented implementations.

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
• Supporting/troubleshooting server and OS issues
o React promptly to escalated issues involving server/AD/Windows 2003 connectivity and login,
o Configure and Troubleshoot file system security
o Follow issues through to resolution
o Proactively monitor environment datacenter environment
• Server Engineering
o Support server environment, including regular on-call rotation
o Maintain Systems, including firmware upgrades, drive replacements, regular health checks, driver levels, etc.
o Perform server builds according to tight specifications, maintaining and updating associated documentation
o Implement virtual servers in a VMware environment
o Maintain standards in all phases of server engineering
o Understand and maintain DNS and DHCP infrastructure
• Maintain DataCenter/Server Technology
o Rack and cable servers
o Evaluate power requirements
o Maintain inventory of servers and related hardware
• Create and maintain test environment
o Build and support integration lab environment
o Work with project stakeholders to configure lab to meet project testing requirements
• On Call and After hours
o Rotate on-call position one week at a time
o Participate in or carry out after hours maintenance
Experience: Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Qualifications include:
• College Degree (BS) required
• Active Directory\Windows 2003 – 5 years
o Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2003 Server R2
o Windows 2003 Server Certifications desired
• Server technology – 5 years
o Server technology
o Various non-SAN storage technologies
o KVM technology
o Backup HW
• Backup Software Operation
o Job configuration
o Performance and failure troubleshooting
o Backup Monitoring and Reporting
o Experience with ArcServe 11.1 and/or 11.5 desired
