We are seeking a seasoned IT professional with 5-10 years of progressive experience in the area of networking along with two or more years of IT management experience. The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for the planning, designing and implementing of communications networks and voice services across the US and Canada, and will coordinate the activities of a global team responsible for providing these services around the world.
Primary Duties:
• Directly manage a team of four networking professionals, who are responsible for the management of all network and voice services in over thirty locations in the US and Canada.
• Coordinate the activities of the Global Network Team, a group responsible for managing all communications networks and phone systems around the world.
• Manage network and voice implementation projects.
• Provide assistance and technical support for network design activities through development of test, troubleshooting and operational procedures. Review, assess and addresses user needs, performs feasibility studies, assists in the evaluation and selection of network and voice hardware or software.
Experience: • Strong leadership, planning, and project management skills. Must be able to think strategically and to interact with confidence. Able to motivate and inspire a team that is geographically spread over multiple locations.
• Good communication skills. Must possess the ability to explain technology and related issues to non-technologically minded people, and to communicate effectively with IT professionals from other technical specialty areas and with network specialists whose first language may not be English.
• Extensive experience with Cisco routers and switches and wireless access points.
• Strong knowledge of network routing protocols such as EIGRP.
• Knowledge of Cisco network security technologies such as VPN concentrator, PIX, ASA, LEAP, MARS, and IDS.
• Experience with Cisco VoIP technologies, Call Manager, Unity, QoS.
• Knowledge of BGP or MPLS, or knowledge of Nortel or Avaya PBX technology a plus.
• Cisco certifications (CCIE, CCNP) or project management certification (PMP) a plus.
• Experience with Windows Active Directory & Windows 2003 servers or Linux a plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Available for on-call duties 24-7.
• Some travel within North America and internationally is required.
