We have an immediate need for a Technical Lead
JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Technical Lead reports to the Project Manager and is responsible to make sure that the technical solution is aligned with the clients requirements for the overall technology management including product, data conversion, system configuration and system deployment, including the development and deployment of a operational data store (ODS) and the integration of a commercial document management system. The Technical Lead will manage the technical support with the system configuration as well as on-site and remote support as necessary. The Technical Lead will have extensive knowledge and experience on integrating various systems and technologies, in systems architecture and design and a familiarity with infrastructure and data center management.
The role is responsible for the following tasks:
- Oversee the technical side of the implementation
- Manage technical staff
- Collaborate with technical experts and Verizon Business data center staff to specify and define technical requirements, capacity and storage planning
- Work with system administrators to determine how best to connect to source data systems via the ODS
- Work with system administrators to determine how data is currently stored and document data codes, if used
- Configure data mappings from existing systems using the Data Connectivity Tool
- Oversee the testing phase of the data conversion process
- Develop ad hoc reports to verify the integrity of data imported from other systems (in addition to the ODS) and work with system administrators and subject matter experts to verify data conversion
- Migrate data mappings, ad hoc reports, etc., needed for the data conversion process from the testing environment to the production environment
- Coordinate data conversion, ODS, and system integration activities and ensure data connectivity is established amongst various existing legacy systems and the proposed system
- Manage all aspects of the technical implementation of the implementation
- Manage internal staff responsible for systems integration, data conversion, software development and hosting services
- Manage third party contractors as it pertains to the technical portions of the implementation
Relevant Skills/Experience:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Technology, Business, Education, Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction or related field
- A minimum of three years experience in the implementation and deployment of complex applications, systems integration, and close customer interaction with a demonstrated ability to customize applications rapidly and integrate systems cohesively
- Technical project management skills necessary to interface with large, complex environments to provide support to and collaborate with the Project Manager and the client project manager as it pertains to the technical portions of the implementation
- Ability to supervise a variety of technical staff
- Demonstrated comfort in working with Windows Server and SQL Server
- Must be very familiar with hand-coding HTML (not using a WYSIWYG editor) and be comfortable with programming/scripting (including JavaScript and SQL) and relational databases (including Microsoft SQL Server)
- Knowledge of software quality assurance (application testing) experience and skills
