Description Our client, a global financial services firm and a market leader in securities, asset management and credit services, is seeking a CICS Support Engineer. Contract position New York , NY The Middleware group needs an intermediate level Mainframe engineer to help with day-to-day activities around production support, implementing configuration requests etc around Mainframe based applications like MQ, Grapevine (clients proprietary transport protocol) and External Partner Gateway. Also he is expected to develop support tools including metrics gathering and reporting for all these systems. Required skills: 8+ years using COBOL, VSAM, advanced CICS, JCL and TSO. Advanced CICS technical know-how (eg memory management in CICS). Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a team environment and/or as an individual contributor. Ability to analyze and define project requirements. Develop/test/implement technical solutions. Critical and creative thinker for identifying problems and recommending solutions. Desired: Knowledge of CICS Web Service and messaging experience (IBM MQSeries) is a big plus.
