Description Our client, one of the top US investment banks, offering securities underwriting and trading, mergers and acquisitions advice, research, private equity investment, and risk management products is seeking an IT professional with knowledge of UNIX, Oracle 10, .NET framework and Business Objects technologies to work in an IT Support role.Contract positionNew York, NY Main Responsibilities; Duties: Provide support of Order Management System (Charles River IMS) and Business Objects XIMaintain adequate communication with clients and IT management; act as liaison between development, project management and other support teams.Escalate issues when required to ensure timely resolution.Documentation of production applications and infrastructure. . Required Skills: 5+ years of IT experience. Oracle Database development on UNIX platforms ( 3+ yrs). Shell Scripting (3+yrs) .NET framework (3+yrs) Working in networked environment (3+yrs) Unix Administration skills (2+ yrs) Understanding of enterprise infrastructure UNIX/shell scripting Strong Oracle database development skills - data modeling, stored procedures, triggers, etc. Solid knowledge of .NET framework CVS, Clear Case for Source Control Excellent oral and written communication skills, business writing skills Understanding of network administration concepts Familiarity with enterprise scheduling & Oracle utilities and tools Good knowledge of equities, some experience using or supporting electronic execution systems Client Service experience in high pressure situations Experience/knowledge of the trade lifecycle, with the capability to work with sales, trading and operational environments A good level of knowledge around the FIX Protocol and its implementation within trading technologies Experience of troubleshooting application installations and connectivity issues, Confident in dealing with clients face to face/over the phone. Proven track record of working effectively as part of a team, Strong communication skills.Desired Skills: 3+ years of application development experience in the financial/banking domain, on the Java, JSP, including data modelling. Building Perl, Open source software (use of C/C++ compilers) desirable. Experience with Charles River Investment Management System Experience with FIX technology Understanding of Business Objects XI reporting Remedy and ITIL Process.
