Lead framework development for Telecom technology, assessing short and long term implications for selected solutions (strategic versus tactical). Make leadership decisions on strategic and tactical initiatives that have significant business impact. Collaborate with segment developers and top management peers to deliver strategic business results. The candidate must act as role model, an agent of change, mentor and coach to others both within and outside the team. Telecom Technologies include A? LAN Infrastructure A? Voice Technologies A? Video Technologies A? Wireless Technologies A? ISP Technologies A? Voice and Data Convergence Technologies Accountabilities: A? Oversee product lifecycle for identified Telecom technology products o Interpret industry trends to ascertain appropriate optimization of product catalog, driving cost savings and efficiencies in the support model. o Work with business segments to identify current issues and emerging needs. o Adopt a value chain approach to define Telecom services. Develop the ability to measure and manage Telecom technologies in a holistic manner in relation to user centric services such as application hosting, messaging, desktop, etc. o Identify and introduce new products to meet business trends and demand, analyzing impact and integration of new products; steer new products through discovery, testing and approvals process for adoption while managing the retirement of declining technologies. o Manage, refresh and optimize the product catalog available to Solutions Engineering required for solutions development. o Steer new products through discovery, testing and approvals process for adoption including the preparation and presentation of design, build, presentation and architectural materials o Influence development teams on product lifecycle adoption o Oversee development of reference architecture and implementation standards for identified products. o Develop and manage vendors relationships for NDA, product roadmaps, emerging Telecom technologies o Oversee development of Operating Level Agreements, while ensuring alignment to Service Level Agreements. o Oversee development of operations support documentation including runbooks etc. to meet Operational handover requirements, ensuring quality and content standards are met. Oversee support to the Solutions Engineering team towards designing solutions to meet project requirements. Lead, coach, develop and mentor high skilled infrastructure engineers. Perform resource management duties including allocation of resources to projects and other work requests. Study product usage in the enterprise to identify cost reduction opportunities and directs projects to rationalize the product footprint in the enterprise. Champion efforts to identify and correct inconsistent deployment of approved products. Develop and manage an infrastructure budget for Telecom technologies. Oversee the deployment Level 3 Engineering Support for Production Support Significant expertise and experience in defining philosophy and principles for global engineering in networking technologies. A? Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate new concepts, and drive change in process and behaviors. A? Personnel management and leadership skills, adept in identifying and managing to key behaviors. Must be able to assess individual strengths and weaknesses, and develop and implement plans to build required competencies and generate required behaviors. A? Technology competencies include LAN/Networking installation and configuration; Voice/Data Convergence Technologies Video Conferencing Tools, Router, Switches, Load Balancers, Wireless AP, TCP/IP, Radius etc. A? Bottom-line oriented with the ability to push self and team for results, demonstrated success at managing resources to achieve goals. A? Able to identify and elaborate enterprise-wide impact of major product technology trends A? Has played a lead role in research, development and implementation of new product technologies. A? Architecture and design for Telecom systems infrastructure technologies, with SME knowledge in one or more Telecom-related technologies. A? Significant experience with product testing, prototyping proof of concept and migration issues, problems and considerations. A? Has a clear perspective on product technology integration and interconnectivity A? Has significant experience in vendor management, communication with vendor engineering and vendor product development A? Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to identify learning opportunities, improve current processes. A? Reporting and metric production and utilization to support strategic planning and decisions A? Effective communications and presentation delivery skills, especially to senior management on technology strategies and standards; able to create and maintain cross-segment relationships and foster collaboration, knowledge sharing and cooperation.
