Permanent position Location: New York, NY Looking for a Database/Java architect and developer to enhance Client publishing systems, web-based content and analytical tools. Main Duties: Successful candidates will Closely working with business to conduct data requirements analysis and logical and physical modeling. Design and implement enhancements to our publishing systems, research archives, and client web sites Exercise technology leadership - optimize performance, reliability, scalability and extensibility Experience all aspects of the project life-cycle, from design and development to routine support. Code in every area: Back End database design, server configuration, and Scripting work., Front End GUI development and mid-tier applications services. Person Requirements 5+ years of experience of relational database systems (Oracle, SQL Server and Sybase) ? database modeling, engineering, optimization, depth of understanding. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, should be able to multitask and switch gears quickly Project management experience. Good communication skills - you will work directly with many parts of the business. Linux/Solaris experience and Web Server (Apache) and Enterprise Application Servers (Weblogic/JBoss) experience 3+ years of experience in Java (J2EE, XML/XSL, Web Services) Experience with Open Source technologies such as Spring and Hibernate a plus Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
