Business Analyst - Risk and Finance Technology

This is a great opportunity to join a New York City based Investment bank as a Technical Business Analyst working with the Risk and Finance Technology team. This team is responsible for the development of Market, Credit and Operational Risk platforms. You will be responsible for the successful implementation of a shared data warehouse for use by all risk and finance applications. This requires a strong technical background along with coordination across multiple IT and business groups within the firm.
Experience: Required Experience/Skills:
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst at a financial firm.
- Strong knowledge of Fixed Income products, ideally Credit derivatives, bonds and/or interest rate derivatives.
- Market Risk concepts including VaR (how to calculate VaR and the data inputs required), issuer risk analysis and stress testing.
- Experience with Market Risk systems or Front Office Pricing/Risk systems.
- Data Warehousing & understanding of data modeling. Structured analysis and design, particularly on data intensive front to back transaction flows.
- Experience working with data feeds/system messaging interfaces and an understanding of XML/ XSD schema design.
- In-depth understanding of Trade Capture, Trade Processing, Trade Flow, Events, Cash Settlement, Confirmation, EOD Valuation.
- Technical background, familiarity with ETL concepts & tools, ideally Informatica, data modeling, SQL.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated and organized, able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
