Duties and Responsibilities:

As part of the Industrial Controls Division operations support team, reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager, the Process Development Leader (PDL) will work with minimal guidance to plan, organize and conduct process improvement activities and process variation reduction activities to improve cost, quality and schedule performance.

The PDL exercises good judgment within broadly defined practices (Lean, Teaming, Six Sigma, etc.) for selecting the appropriate methods and techniques to apply to the particular problem being addressed.

Will need to adapt to different projects and teams throughout a high growing, low volume, and high mix factory and office environment.

The PDL is expected to provide process improvement coaching and education to other employees.

Ultimately, the PDL will help foster an environment that invites change and continuously strives for improvement.

Typical Projects:
• Improving product flow (single-piece or smaller lots) through a production area.
• Lead and mentor 6 sigma projects to reduce production variation and improve first pass yield.
• Facilitate value stream and process mapping teams in order to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support lean / 6 sigma projects at suppliers and other company subsidiaries (both domestic and international sites).
• Teach and mentor future lean leaders so that the continuous improvement mindset becomes a part of our culture.

Required skills:
Able to perform, conduct and lead Black Belt projects and mentor Green belts.

Able to conduct and lead Lean initiatives, kaizen events.

Able to lead multiple projects simultaneously.

Able to lead and adapt to a broad spectrum of individuals and project scope.

Education:

BS Degree (Industrial, mechanical, manufacturing, or electrical).

Black Belt certification required.

1 year of experience conducting continuous improvement projects.

2 to 5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
