Our client seeks an experienced Systems / Database Engineer to support a Technology Lab used for the staging and testing of custom applications with the Cable Television & Telecommunications industry specifically for digital set-top boxes. This individual will be responsible for supporting and maintaining custom configurations within the Lab environment to meet applications specific requirements and will work closely with a team of software & hardware engineers. This is an ideal position for someone who is very technical, well-versed in a number of Cable, Television, Video & Broadband technologies and has the ability to move/adapt quickly to changing needs while working with minimal supervision.Required SKills:. Strong experience with UNIX/Solaris systems administration and server engineering (versions 8 & 10 required). Solid DBA expertise with Oracle and/or Informix databases. Hands-on expertise with RF / Video Head-End technologies is a MAJOR plus. Experience with Scientific Atlanta / Cisco Digital Set-Top-Box is highly desired. Experience with Command 2000 Scripting is highly desired. Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills
