Title: Data Security Engineer
Location: Bronx, NY
Duration: Long Term / Possible Direct Hire
The On-Site engineer is responsible for delivering value added technical advice to customer's based on information derived from Managed Services systems and interactions with the customer.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
" General Responsibilities
o Monitor: Work as part of the team that provides the on-site security monitoring. As this team administers the security infrastructure and the SIM platform (currently NetForensics) they generally see the faults that occur with the equipment, as they push out new signatures or licenses etc. This resource would be the team lead in terms of delivering the new crafted "fully managed service" that we have been designing..
o Administer: Perform Net Forensics report maintenance functions, Net Forensics maintenance activities that are involved in deployment and on-going operational support.
o Alert: fully qualified contacts and Track Response
o Report : Work with Operations Center to ensure that activities in support of the Customer Security Report environment is optimized during deployment and operational modes.
o The Pro Active Engineer will be responsible for administration of existing and future SIM platform and be able to give the technical report of the weekly activities at the regular customer facing security meetings.
o Continually analyze the inputs from the operations center (service requests, events, thresholds, service response agents and Concord reports), summarize and make technical recommendations to the customer for the purpose of:
? Guiding the customer to make design and configuration changes to the Security environment for the purpose of extracting enhanced performance and maximum business benefit.
? Refining/reviewing events so as to reduce the number of events generated with a view to minimizing the load on both the customer and the operations centre whilst still providing key inputs to the successful management of the customer's environment.
o Works with the Service Delivery Manager to continually ensure that the customer's satisfaction with the Managed Service offering is high.
o Support: The On Site engineer will have all access to manage Smartnet/UpTime service contracts (contract numbers, logins etc.) and understand how to use the services of these contracts. Working with the Operations Center and dispatch, the Pro Active Engineer will be responsible for break/fix of Uptime supported equipment on site. Perform consultative support of Uptime Security contract

" Other Responsibilities
o Continually explores potential sales opportunities within the customer and provides feedback to sales
o Continually monitors operational performance and provides feedback to the operation centre to drive improved service delivery
" Qualifications
o A minimum of 3 years experience with the Cisco suite of security products.
o CCSP or equivalent experience required.
o Mature understanding of IDS/IDSM technologies
o Security Monitoring, analysis and response expertise required
o Network Management expertise required.
o Excellent communication skills both internally and with customers
o Demonstrated history of attributes consistent with culture: can-do attitude, customer-focused, flexible, initiative, quality-conscious, responsive, teamwork and contributing to other's success
o Net Forensics, PIX firewall, Cisco 6500 expertise,
o Mature understanding vulnerabilities in a corporate environment
" Required Skills (mental, physical)
o Ability to converse verbally and in writing with customers, suppliers and employees of all levels within the organization.
o Excellent attention to detail
o Ability to operate computers (MSOffice products), copiers, fax and other general office equipment with little or no rework/errors.
o Ability to type effectively with little or no rework/errors.
o Ability to utilize company's information system and phone system.
o Ability to follow procedures, multi-task and prioritize tasks.
