Basic Function:
This position reports to the Team Leader of the Storage Administration Group and provides technical and operational support in the development and exploitation of distributed and mainframe software procedures. The incumbent will be responsible for planning and providing guidance in the implementation of DASD mangement philosophies. Exploits DASD management technologies, including keeping up to date with current trends and industry direction. Responsible for analysis, design, implementation, documentation of tasks and projects relating to all tiers of enterprise disk storage.
Responsibilities:
- Utilizing M&T's Project Management Methodology, performs the installation, maintenance, exploitation, documentation, and day to day support of enterprise products related to SAN and disk storage management.
- Designs procedures and modifications to the SAN and Disk environment that will enhance system functionality and integrity.
- Develops and implements strategic data storage and recovery solutions.
- Provides analysis and resolution assistance to operational and technical personnel.
- Provides assistance in the analysis of issues related to products support by the group.
- Works with technical, operational, and functional areas to answer questions, resolve problems and identify opportunities for efficiency gains.
Basic Qualifications:
- Five to seven years related systems experience
- Experience with EMC hardware and EMC software products
- Previous project management experience
- Experience with multi-platform storage management techniques, including disk SAN's
Ideal Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems
- Proven ability to prioritize and perform technical tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to target audience
