An excellent client of ours is looking for a PC Support Tech to Installs, configures, repairs and maintains personal computer hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, network nodes, terminals, and wiring.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Perform all personal computer hardware and software installation and configuration tasks.

Coordinate the installation and integration of server systems.

Install and configure any PC or PC peripheral that is attached to the AS/400.

Make service calls for PC/server hardware and software support.

Coordinate hardware and software maintenance of PC/server equipment and peripherals.

Schedule preventative maintenance with service providers.

Prepare and maintain documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts.

Coordinate wiring and cabling with in house staff and third party contractors.

Perform all upgrades to PC/server operating system software and vendor application software.

Schedule and perform backups of server systems.

Administer network security including associated firewalls.

Monitor and maintain network performance and stability.

Provide in-house help desk support for PC/server hardware and software.

Stay up to date on current trends in the computer marketplace.


QUALIFICATIONS

The individual must be dependable, able to work overtime, and able to plan, schedule and meet deadlines. The ability to operate tactfully under pressure and work without supervision is essential. Must also be flexible to changing routines, and able to follow detailed instructions. The ability to use and install office automation software (Windows, Word, Excel, NT, etc.), and the Internet is also required. Lastly, the individual must able to travel for schooling and must be able to work off-hours as required.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to create graphical diagrams of network components.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.




CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Position requires a valid driver’s license.

Experience: Candidate will be responsible for maintaining PCs for several users. They will be responsible for working in Active Directory.
