We are currently working on a search for a client based in the Gramercy/Flatiron area of New York City. The company is Beliefnet, the leading religion and spirituality website. Beliefnet is launching a new social networking platform and is looking for a full-time project manager to manage the day to day operations of this area of the site and all new development. Position will report to the Vice President of Social Networking.
Job responsibilities include:
-Work with social networking team to develop plans for desired functionality, understand technical specifications, and document all requirements
-Act as main point of contact between Beliefnet and outside vendors developing the tools
-Manage internal development and integration
-Help prioritize all projects going forward
-Drive project requirements and deadlines across departments, including technology, marketing, and editorial.
-Stay up to date on Web 2.0 developments and research new tools and technology to deploy in the social network

Experience: Requirements:
-5+ years website project management experience, including proven ability to run projects from the idea phase to completion, working across departments and with outside vendors
-Deep technical knowledge and ability to translate technical jargon so that non-technical team members can understand. Previous experience as a developer a plus.
-Strong verbal and communication skills
-Must be extremely detail-oriented and a team player. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
-Enthusiasm for and interest in online social networks. Experience working in social networking a big plus.
